Marking 25 years of operation, the history and heritage of Disneyland became the focus of new entertainment such as the "Disneyland Is Your Land" stage show and in the "25th Birthday Parade," which took a nostalgic look at each of the park's seven themed lands. However, the biggest anniversary event was a 25-hour party which lasted from July 16 at midnight to 1 a.m. on July 18. All attractions and stores remained open around the clock while top performers played all over the park. On July 17, the actual anniversary date, a special ceremony was held in Town Square which ended with the release of 25,000 silver and white balloons.
